Why move to Edmonton?

Just 8 miles from Charing Cross, Edmonton offers a wealth of open space, good shopping and restaurants and a varied choice of property.

It’s a great choice for home buyers and investors looking for an up-and-coming area, as a multi-million pound regeneration project is underway, including retail parks, health care and leisure space. This will provide thousands of new jobs and homes, plus improved commuter links into the City.

If you are looking for an estate agent in Edmonton, please pop into our office on Church Street. We are both a lettings agent and sales agent for the Edmonton area, and will be happy to help you.

A short history

Edmonton was a small settlement outside of London until the Great Eastern Railway opened the Lower Edmonton station in 1872. By 1914, there had been considerable development along the Hertford Road, Victoria Road and Bury Street area. In the early post-war years, a massive programme of redevelopment took place, including the rebuilding of the Edmonton Green shopping centre.

Property

There’s a good choice of period houses, with Victorian, Edwardian and 1930's terraces in demand with buyers. If you prefer a newer property, Edmonton is the place to look, with large scale developments currently underway.

If you are interested in putting your house on the market, our Sales Agents will be pleased to arrange a home valuation. Those looking to purchase property in Edmonton can discuss their needs with our local experts and arrange viewings at suitable properties. Alternatively, if you are a Landlord considering letting your property, or you are looking to rent within the Edmonton area, our Lettings Agents are on hand to support you.

Transport links

Commuters can travel from one of three train stations; Angel Road, Silver Street or Edmonton Green. Fast trains to Liverpool Street take 20 minutes. Edmonton is also only 12 minutes from the North Circular road, for easy access to East and West London.

Shopping, eating and drinking

Edmonton Green Shopping Centre offers a fantastic mix of 120 shops and restaurants, plus 45 bustling market stalls. Near Angel Road Station is the ever-popular IKEA.

For a varied choice of eateries, head to Fore Street, with Malaysian, Turkish and Chinese food amongst the many cuisines on offer.

Things to do

Edmonton offers plenty of open spaces for families, ramblers, cyclists and joggers, including Pymmes Park, Picketts Lock, Lea Valley Park and walks along the River Lea.

If you’re a football fan, you’ll know White Hart Lane as the home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. But other sports are well supported, with a local cricket club and angling at Picketts Lock. The Edmonton Leisure Centre offers a wide choice of activities.

Millfield Theatre hosts a broad selection of comedy and musical performances, plus courses, workshops and is always good for a rip-roaring Christmas Panto for all the family to enjoy.
